Our third day in Japan had us waking up in Tokyo, and checking out of the very lavish Prince Sakura hotel to start our walking tour of Tokyo with our friend Andrew Shuttleworth. We saw a variety of places around the city of Tokyo, and by the end of the day we had the blisters to show for it! Warning: many of these pictures are of technology, which some of you may find boring - but Jason was in geek heaven. ;-)
This gives you a fairly good idea of just how crazy Tokyo was. The streets were laid out in a fashion that made no sense to us. Andrew, our friend who took us around Tokyo, commented that the reasons the streets in Tokyo were so confusing was actually to protect the Emperor and Empress if they ever needed to escape from an attack. No one would know where they went because the streets were made to confuse the enemy...and tourists too apparently!
